Meet the Artists

Alex is thrilled to be participating in his fourth DUETS program with AutismOklahoma. He has participated in other AutismOklahoma art and social programs for a number of years and was honored to be named a program advisor as well. Alex also enjoys performing in drama productions and his tap and jazz dance classes. He was cast in the role of Guardian of the Gate for The Wizard of Oz and as Friar Tuck in Robin Hood. His favorite things about all of his activities are “seeing his friends and meeting new people”.

Allie’s favorite things to paint are hearts, suns, flowers and all things happy. She is a very hard worker, she is married and lives in Norman. She has a kind heart and loves her friends & family…actually she pretty much loves everyone and everything!

Aubrey’s personality is bashful but expressive through her detailed art. She has incredible talent in all art forms that she attempts, but her favorite is drawing. She is thorough and patient in all she does.

Caroline likes to draw animals and cartoon characters. Her interests are art, animation, writing, storytelling, cooking, history, world culture and pop culture. This year she drew her favorite characters. She likes to meet people and to get out and do fun things.

Chelsea lives in Bethany, Oklahoma. She graduated from Bethany High School in 2018. Chelsea enjoys playing video games, especially with her brother and nephew. Chelsea likes painting simplistic pictures and figures. She also enjoys watching movies, especially horror movies. Chelsea has a love and knowledge of animals and loves spending time with her dog.

Chris enjoys drawing and painting pictures of Mario, Pikachu and many other characters, as well as flowers.  He also enjoys playing basketball and video games. He loves spending time with his family.

Connor is from Norman, Oklahoma and is good at drawing, painting and puppets. His  interests are Puppetry, Animation, Video Games and Theme Parks. He hopes to work as a puppeteer for The Jim Henson Company in the future.

Cooper enjoys creating abstract pieces of art. Coop enjoys advocating for autism. His hobbies include finding new a.m. radio stations and he is a movie trivia whiz! He loves to travel!

Craig is a wonderful young adult who works full time in the cafeteria at the high school where he graduated and enjoys  painting and drawing in his spare time. He is currently interested in drawing portraits of famous people and of people that he knows.

David has been an artist in Bee’s Knees for the past 10 years. He loves to paint electronics, stories about repairmen, bugs, computers, and creating awesome backgrounds. He loves recycling various hardware. His artwork is hanging all over Oklahoma. He loves to tell others about his work! He enjoys watching and meeting repair folks, collecting emergency gear, and learning about safety and preparedness. This year he wanted to paint about cars, car repairs, and police cars, because he is always wanting to explore new ideas.

Holly loves doing art of all kinds. She also loves her sister whom she did the painting with. As well as art Holly goes to wings, plays hand bells in the church choir, watches movies and loves going places like Taco Bell and Starbucks. When asked if she could do anything she wanted Holly said “movie theater.”

Joy has a background in biology and art. Joy works with animals in her job with City of OKC. She enjoys making various types of art from pencil and painting to digital. The subjects of her art include animals, anime and video game characters, and fantasy creatures. Her inspiration comes from nature, other artists, and her interests. When she is not making art she likes to play with her dogs Hugo and Deka, read, watch documentaries, and be in nature.

Kamden is vibrant, impulsive and full of life!  She lives in Edmond, Oklahoma. Kamden is incredibly detailed and is curious about those around her. She never meets a stranger and “sees” the best in the world. She loves curating crayon originals and generously gifts her works of art to those around her. Her favorite hangout is the neighborhood pool.

Kinley lives in Edmond, Oklahoma. She enjoys reading books, dancing and  hosting a good “girls night out” with friends. She enjoys painting, especially flowers and hearts. When she isn’t creating artwork, she loves eating chocolate chip cookies, singing/sending happy birthday videos and walking her dog Theo, and a cat named Mr. Skittles.

Kolby loves animals and going on adventures with her family. She especially loves marine mammals. Her favorite places to visit are Florida, Colorado, and upstate New York.

Michael has been drawing since the age of 6.  He is completely self-taught. He perfects his craft by watching YouTube artists and reading books. He likes to draw portraits, characters, realistic photos and computer art. He is self-motivated and determined to be a famous artist. 

Michelle is an AutismOklahoma artist who has participated in many Duets and Big Swanky art camps and shows. She was an artist in the award-winning animated short “Even in Death” and was the 2019 Autism Oklahoma Lady Ambassador and has been an advisor to the AO Board. She holds an Associates degree in Art from Rose State College. Michelle is a Ms. Marvel fan and attends Comicon and the AO Halloween party. She is interested in anime and manga.

Vanessa is a teaching fine artist from Edmond, Oklahoma. Creating is her passion- she has been drawing and painting for over 10 years. She also loves to take vibrant photos with interesting colors and textures. Her favorite subjects to focus on are the little things that stick out to the creative eye- like close up details in nature and animals. Her art style has been described as quirky, adorable, and vibrant in color by others.
